The Dutch Cemetery, Ernakulam

A major historical site in Fort Kochi is a true reminiscent of the past. Cited as one of the must visit tourist attractions in Kerala, this historical site is the final resting ground of more than 1,000 Dutch soldiers who left their motherland and dreamt of expanding the limits and influence of the Dutch empire in India.

The last burial in Dutch Cemetery was of Captain Joshep Ethelbert Winckler in 1913. The cemetery also has a number of cenotaphs belonging to the British soldiers.
