Koyikkal Palace, Thiruvananthapuram
Dating back to the 16th century, Koyikkal Palace is located in the Nedumangadu suburb of Thiruvananthapuram. One of the best and well-preserved tourist attractions in Kerala, this royal palace was constructed by the Venad Royal Family for the regent ruler Umayamma Rani.
At present, the Koyikkal Palace has been converted into a heritage museum that houses numerous artefacts and belongings of the past. Most of the items on display here showcase the folk cultures and traditions of God’s Own Country. Owing to its rich and diverse historical significance, it is touted as one of the must-visit tourist attractions in Kerala.
