It is a particularly a paradise for the history buffs, whereas Guruvayur is the place where you can have a spiritual unwinding and a relaxed day going around exploring what this quaint village has to offer.

Day 1 Arrival at Kochi and all day tour

After being picked from the airport/railway station and freshening up at the hotel, your Kochi tour begins. In the heart of the city, you can drop by at the Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary and the Kerala Folklore Museum. If you have a thing for architecture, especially the ones that exude an old world charm, The Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica & St Francis Church are the places to visit.

The Fort Kochi – Mattancherry side of the city has incredible treats to offer the history buffs, or just anyone who is intrigued by the remnants of the bygone era. Tale a walk along the shores of Fort Kochi Beach and watch the fishermen operating the Chinese Fishing Nets. There are palaces build and renovated by the Portuguese, Dutch or British, which have now been converted into museums, quaint churches, a synagogue and the maze of streets of the Jew Town lined with antique, handicraft and spices shops that make this part of the city look like it is from elsewhere.

Day 2 Drive to Guruvayur and all day tour (2 hours 30 minutes – 98 kms)

The next day morning, you start your journey to the village of Guruvayur. The highlight of the place is of course, the Guruvayur Shri Krishna Temple, one of the most thronged temples in India. The whole place has a magical ambience. You can also visit the Punnathurkotta Elephant Palace, where the elephants that provide their service at the Guruvayur Temple are taken care of. In the Vallabhattakalari, you can watch the famous martial art from Kerala, Kalaripayattu, live in action.

Day 3 Departure

After a delicious breakfast, while you head back home, you will notice the new peace brimming in you, thanks to the spiritual as well as informatively enchanting trip you had.
